On February 7, 2026, we invite you to the opening event of the “Latvia Challenge” hiking series route “Vecumnieki Pine Forests.”
We have prepared the most beautiful winter forest adventure for you, where you can breathe in incredibly fresh air, enjoy peaceful pine forest landscapes, and feel the calm that can only be found in nature.
The forests of Vecumnieki hide steep dunes, scenic woodland views, and mysterious roads and trails. And if winter brings us a blanket of snow, this will become a true fairytale land.

This will be an adventure for everyone, as three different route lengths will allow you to choose the one that suits you best and spend the day with a comfortable and enjoyable level of effort. Each route will include a challenge that offers a new hiking experience for both beginners and more experienced walkers, who will be able to enjoy true harmony between the beauty of nature, scenic surroundings, and the peaceful silence of the forest.
Our team members will be present along the routes, providing fun and experience-enriching activities.
Snack stations will be available on the trail to recharge before continuing, and at the finish line you will be welcomed with a delicious soup cooked over a campfire.

The hike will start at the Zvirgzde Quarry.
Route distances:
- Small loop – moderate difficulty hike, 13 km
- Medium loop – moderate difficulty hike, 21 km
- Large loop – a hike for challenge lovers, 30 km
